BROW LIFT
What brow lift achieves

The procedure that (re)positions your brows

In some cases, either genetically or due to aging, brows, especially their outer end or “tail”, are at a position lower than the normal one, giving an aging, tired look in the eye region, causing upper eyelids feel heavy, also affecting their position.

Brow lift is performed to lift the brows and position them at the natural position of youth (namely at the level of superior orbital rim or higher). In cases of severe excess skin at the upper eyelid it can also be combined with upper blepharoplasty.

BROW LIFT
How brow lift is performed
There are 3 known techniques to perform brow lift.

- Direct brow lift (Access through the eyebrow)[IR1] : minimally invasive lift under local anesthesia; brow lift is achieved with sutures. In this case, the incision is made directly on the skin, at the upper end of the brow hairs (it requires “thick” brow for the incision to be adequately concealed). The surgeon removes a section of the skin, and, with direct suturing, brow lift is achieved.
- Temporal brow lift: Through two small incisions in the temporal hair on each side of the face, internal sutures are used, and brow lift is achieved. This technique can also be performed endoscopically.
- Trichophytic brow lift (Brow lift with an incision at the hairline)[IR1] : Perhaps the most effective technique to lift both the forehead and the brows. The incision becomes “invisible” and healing is quick and excellent.
The plastic surgeon explains the advantages and disadvantages of each technique but recommends the one he considers to be more suitable for each patient.

Brow lift: Recovery – Final effects
Brow lift recovery is relatively quick. Sutures are removed after one week, and the remaining incisions are located at the hairline or at the brows, in such a way that they are not visible to the extent possible.

Ecchymosis and swelling recede in 4-7 days. You can use cool patches that will help. After 2-3 days you can return to your moderate activities and in 15-20 days you can work out.
BROW LIFT FAQ

Brow lift does not affect under-eye bags, or crow’s feet at the corner of the outer eye. It can reduce excess skin at the upper eyelid, yet not sufficiently. For more complete effects across this region, the combination of brow lift with upper or lower blepharoplasty is recommended.

The suitable candidate foe brow lift has:

- sagging skin at the eyebrow and forehead area
- thin brow lines and forehead wrinkles
- asymmetrical eyebrows
