What is neck lift?

People used to say the one should hide their neck, for their age not to show. With neck lift scarves are optional!

With neck lift " sagging" and skin wrinkles caused by laxity are treated, fat accumulation under the jaw is eliminated and platysmal bands disappear (platysma is the muscle that supports the neck like a corset). Neck lift aims at restoring skin firmness, reshaping the neck contour and removing sagging tissues.

NECK LIFT
How neck lift procedure is performed
Neck lift is performed under general anesthesia and lasts about 2 hours. The incision usually starts in front of the ear lobe and then goes backwards, just behind the ear. If there is also severe sagging of the platysma, a second incision can be made under the jaw. Then, skin is detached, excess fat is removed, muscles are stretched and stapled in the midline, and any excess skin is removed.
The incision is sutured with very delicate, absorbable sutures and the neck is rejuvenated, without wrinkles, without folds and cords, totally free from unsightly laxity caused by aging. Immediately after the surgery, the neck area is covered with an elastic bandage to reduce the edema, which develops post-operatively.

Neck lift: Recovery – Final effect

After Neck Lift under general anesthesia, hospital stay for 24 hours is recommended. The postoperative pain is mild, and it is treated with common painkillers. Return to daily activities starts gradually, after the 2nd – 3rd day, and return to work after 10 days; for the following 3 weeks it is advised to avoid workout and demanding activities. Sutures are gradually removed from the face in 15 days.

The neck lift effects will be revealed day by day, as the postoperative edema. The effects are finalized after 4-5 months. What needs to be clarified is that Neck Lift restores the youthful look on the neck, but it cannot stop time. Yet, after such a procedure, the person will always look 10-15 years younger!
NECK LIFT FAQ

Neck lift can restore the youthful look of the neck and the lower jaw. More specifically, you are suitable for a Neck Lift if it bothers you that the neck has:

- Skin thinning and severe wrinkling

- Severe skin laxity (sagging)

- Loss of the jaw contour

- Sagging of the platysma

- Double chin

Facelift cannot eliminate the signs of aging on the neck. Facelift corrects laxity in the cheeks, jowls, and the angle of the lower jaw, while Neck Lift corrects skin sagging and unsightly wrinkles on the neck. These two procedures are different; yet the truth is that when they are combined the effects are spectacular. If blepharoplasty follows, harmonious and balanced effects will be achieved across the face and the neck.
