How Dermapen is performed

Dermapen is like a big pen; its tip is outfitted with 12 fine needles that vertically penetrate the skin, up to 100 times per second, with adjustable speed and depth, ranging between 0.25mm -2.5mm, depending on the area where it is applied. Due to their specific design, the needles slightly rotate and effectively open the pores and pierce the upper layer of the skin.


The micro-injury they cause is perfectly controlled and it triggers the initiation of the healing process of the cells, resulting in the activation of fibroblasts to produce new collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid—elements that will renew and rejuvenate the skin. Dermapen treatment can be applied to any part of the face and the body, as both its tips are small and can reach all areas and the doctor can adjust the penetration depth, depending on the area where it is applied.

What's important is that immediately after treatment the patients return to their activities!

Recovery – When the effects of Dermapen are visible and how long they last
After Dermapen treatment you will be asked to avoid using makeup and the application of cosmetics for several hours. Any slight redness or edema related to the treatment will fully subside within 12-24 hours. Usually, one hour after the treatment all patients can return to their normal activities. The following days avoid rubbing the skin, be consistent in using your moisturizing cream and, of course, in using sunscreen.

The first effects of Dermapen treatment are visible from the very first day, while the skin will continue to improve for the following period, as collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production will reach its peak. For truly spectacular effects, you will have to repeat some sessions, depending on your skin’s condition or the problem you want to correct. If what you wish is to maintain a youthful, radiant and toned skin, then 3-4 sessions per year is what you need.

Dermapen is an easy, safe and effective procedure. During the treatment, you will feel light pressure on the treatment area. The treatment is very well tolerated by most patients, while some prefer using an anesthetic cream. In any case, your doctor will work with you to maximize your comfort level.

Dermapen is not recommended for skin with purulent acne or rashes or skin suffering from atopic dermatitis or eczema. It is important that the treatment is performed on skin with no active inflammation or severe irritation.

Dermapen has no age limit. At young ages it offers significant benefits in the treatment of acne scars and stretch marks, while its benefits in the prevention and treatment of the signs of aging make it valuable over time.
